Sleeping Children Around the World is a Canadian-based charitable organization founded in 1970 with a mission centred on improving the lives of children in developing countries through a simple but powerful idea: a good night’s sleep. Operated largely by volunteers, the organization provides “bedkits” to children aged 6 to 12, each containing essential items such as bedding, clothing, mosquito nets, and school supplies tailored to local needs. By producing these kits within the communities they serve, the organization not only supports children’s health, dignity, and ability to learn, but also contributes to local economies. With more than 1.9 million children supported across dozens of countries, the organization continues to demonstrate how a focused, grassroots approach can create meaningful and lasting global impact.
