HVOT Website Gets a Facelift
Welcome to the new online home of the Humber Valley Old Timers, Murray Dryden Division. After more than three decades of great hockey, our league now has a website built specifically for the way we play, watch, and remember the game. Everything you see here was designed from scratch for HVOT, from the schedule you check on Wednesday afternoon to the stories we will tell about championship nights for years to come. Whether you are a longtime member, a substitute waiting for a call to the show, or a family member following along from home, this site was built for you.
Built for the Way You Follow the League
The heart of the site is the information you need most often. The Schedule page lists every game of the season with dates, ice times, and matchups, and once the final buzzer sounds, scores appear right alongside. The Standings page tracks each team through the season with wins, losses, ties, points, and goal differential, updated as results are recorded. The six team logos on the home page will soon connect to full team pages and rosters. And if you are reading this on your phone, you have probably noticed the site behaves like an app, with a navigation bar at the bottom of the screen that puts Home, Schedule, Standings, and Teams one thumb-tap away. No download required; it simply works wherever you open it.
Stories Worth Telling
Hockey leagues run on stories as much as they run on ice time, and that is what the Newsroom is for. This is the first article of many. Game recaps, championship features, player profiles, and pieces of league history will all live there, and each one can be filtered by category so you can find exactly what interests you. The three most recent stories will always appear on the home page, so checking in weekly will keep you current. This site will keep growing throughout the season, with rosters, statistics, the Trophy Room, and our sponsor pages all on the way. Have a look around, add the site to your phone's home screen, and check back often. Thirty-six seasons in, the Humber Valley Old Timers finally have a home rink online.
