Rules and Regulations

A. Game Format

Regular Season, Round Robin & Consolation

• 3 x 20-minute periods, running time. Penalties: 3 minutes, running time.
• Last 2 minutes of the 3rd period is stop time if there is a 3-goal difference or less.
• No Game Tie Break.

Semi-Finals

• 3 x 20-minute periods, running time. Penalties: 3 minutes, running time.
• Last 2 minutes of the 3rd period is stop time if there is a 3-goal difference or less.

Game Tie Break Rules

• A 15-minute running time 4-on-4 sudden victory period.
• If still tied, a 10-minute running time 3-on-3 sudden victory period.
• If still tied, a best-of-3 shootout. No player may shoot twice.
• If still tied, a sudden victory shootout. Players rotate with no repeats until all have shot.

Bronze Final

• 3 x 15-minute periods, running time. Penalties: 3 minutes, running time.
• Last 2 minutes of the 3rd period is stop time if there is a 3-goal difference or less.

Game Tie Break Rules

Championship

• 3 x 20 minute periods.
• Periods 1 and 2 are running time with 3 minute penalties.
• Flood between the 2nd and 3rd periods.
• Period 3 is stop time with 2 minute penalties.

B. Rules & Regulations

1. PLAYERS MUST ATTEND 60% (12 games) OF THE REGULAR SEASON GAMES TO MAINTAIN PARTICIPATION IN THE FOLLOWING SEASON AND WILL BE PLACED ON THE SUBSTITUTE PLAYER LIST! (Injuries excluded).
2. No body contact.
3. No slap shots (back swing must be below the knee).
4. Playing the puck with the stick above the shoulder will be whistled dead.
5. Minor Penalties = 3 minutes, Double Minor Penalty = 6 minutes (counts as 2 Minor Penalties).
6. Total of 9 minutes of penalties for a player in a game = Expulsion from the game (OF3).
7. Major Penalties = 6 minutes: MJ (Major), M (Misconduct), GM (Game Misconduct), GrM (Gross Misconduct), GS (Game Suspension).
8. Penalized team may not substitute on a whistle (except at period breaks and beginning of a penalty).
9. If a player is ejected, his team shall be permitted to change the player serving the penalty (only on a whistle) if the penalty is more than a minor penalty.
10. NO centre red line.
11. Game defaulted if team has fewer than six players to start the game.
12. Blue Line Icing.

C. Tie Break Rules

Ties between two teams after the completion of the Regular Season

1. Points winner between the two tied teams in regular season.
2. Most wins in regular season.
3. Goals For minus Goals Against in regular season (DIFF).
4. Least goals against in regular season.
5. Most points against the 1st place team in regular season.
6. Least penalized team in regular season.
7. Coin toss.

Three or more teams tied after the Regular Season

1. Best points record between tied teams on a head-to-head basis. The tied teams’ records are recalculated considering only games played against each other.
2. Most wins in regular season.
3. Goals For minus Goals Against in regular season (DIFF).
4. Least goals against in regular season.
5. Most points against the 1st place team in regular season.
6. Least penalized team in regular season.
7. Coin toss.

Tie Break Rules after the Round Robin Playoffs

To reward the first place finish after the regular season, the first playoff tie break goes to the first place team. After that, the playoff tie break reverts to either the two-team or multi-team tie break used in the regular season, but using playoff statistics.

Two teams tied after the Round Robin Playoffs

1. Regular season first place team.
2. Points winner in playoffs between tied teams.
3. Most wins in playoffs.
4. Goals For minus Goals Against in playoffs (DIFF).
5. Least goals against in playoffs.
6. Most points against the 1st place team in playoffs.
7. Least penalized team in playoffs.
8. Coin toss.

Three or more teams tied after the Round Robin Playoffs

1. Regular season 1st place team.
2. Best points record between tied teams on a head-to-head basis. The tied teams’ records are recalculated considering only games played against each other.
3. Most wins in playoffs.
4. Goals For minus Goals Against in playoffs (DIFF).
5. Least goals against in playoffs.
